To be a cop is one of the noblest of all professions. Sheepdogs with a badge. We go to the danger not away from it. We save lives. To be an instructor of cops is a position of even higher honor and responsibility. Our students, our cops, must go to the fight but have the right to go home to their families at the end of the day. We…must ensure that right. We must teach them, train them, motivate them to go to the fight prepared with equipment, body, and mind. We must instill in every officer the warrior. Losing the ultimate fight is not an option.

I am very impressed with San Antonio Police Department. It’s facilities and equipment are extremely nice. More importantly the group of officers that spent the week with me to become shotgun instructors have exactly what it takes. They are the “A” type personalities that it takes to lead others. With enthusiasm they ingrained safety requirements, mindset principles learned and adapted the Hoffner system of shotgun on the range. They are now shotgun operators with skill, speed, and accuracy. More importantly, they learned instructional skills to teach their officers to do the same. Win the fight with law enforcements most powerful and versatile weapons…the shotgun.

It was an honor to work with you guys. You are top notch. We have work to do. We must take our officers and instill in them what we know. We must make them warriors and insist that they do what it takes to win and go home at the end of the day.

We are instructors, we mold individuals, we transform minds, we build skills, we make warriors. We save lives of those who save lives. We are up to the challenge. Great job guys, you are up to the challenge!

One hundred years from now no one will remember the car that we drove, the clothes we wore, or the house we lived in. But if we can make the difference in just one life, if we can save just one life, then our life was worth while.

Hoff provides us Citizen Warriors with glimpses of the LE community and we take Hoffner training seriously. We stand trained and ready to protect and serve our communities and to immediately support law enforcement and other first responders as needed.
